Which apps does Verbative Voice work with?
Any app on your Mac that accepts typed text — Mail, Slack, Notion, Word, your browser, your terminal, your code editor. It inserts the text the same way you would, so nothing needs to support it specially.
Does my voice leave my Mac?
No. It transcribes everything on your own device using a local speech model. No audio and no text is sent to us or anyone else, and dictation keeps working with no internet connection.
Which plan do I need?
Verbative Voice is part of Code Advanced (included at no extra cost), or you can get it on its own with the Verbative Voice plan. Either way it starts with a 14-day free trial.
Is it the same account as the Verbative extension?
Yes. One Verbative account covers the VS Code extension and Verbative Voice, and signing in on one signs you in for the other.
What does it need permission for?
Two things, both asked for on first use: your microphone, so it can hear you, and Accessibility, so it can place the finished text into the app you were working in. You can withdraw either at any time.
Which Macs are supported?
A native macOS app — Apple silicon and Intel Macs on a current macOS. Windows and Linux are not available yet.
